Wuhan runs WFE video in New York's Times Square

Updated: 2017-10-31

A video presentation on the upcoming World Fly-in Expo began showing in New York's Times Square, dubbed the Crossroads of the World,at 9:00 am on Oct 24 (local time).

In the 30-second video, people can see a huge blue poster for the event, which will be held in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (Hannan), or WHDZ, in Central China's Hubei province from Nov 4 to 7.

As a highlight of the promotion video for the Expo, the slogan "Come to Wuhan and enjoy your air-ride with us" is shown prominently and in an impressive way.

The video was displayed 60 times throughout the day, drawing many people's attention.

Brad Rosenthal, a 48-year-old New York resident, said he's glad to see a Chinese city promote itself in New York and interested in the event, though he has never been to China.

He hopes to visit Wuhan and wishes the city all the best.

Jiang Shen, a member of the post-1990 generation who studies in New York, accepted a random interview in Times Square.

He said he was quite excited to see the video from his homeland in an exotic location. As a fan of flying, Jiang applied for a private pilot license after his arrival in New York in 2013.

Although he had not yet received the license, he said he is fascinated with the moment when a plane takes off, leaving the ground behind.

He also hoped the city of Wuhan will take up opportunities in the domestic aviation market and grow into the largest air sport industry hub in China, as well as make aviation into a new calling card for his homeland.
